I mean, it's a SEPTA underground train station.

It's well lit and generally safe, some of the side passages and tunnels can get a little sketchy though. But nobody really uses those unless they know what they're doing.

Otherwise the main Concourse is solid. Pretty good signage, a few people that can help you if you're confused. Some food places but I don't know why you'd eat there unless you're in a rush.

Oh, and there are definitely parts that smell like urine. So there's that. But again, you're underground in the city. It happens.

Suburban Station was near our hotel (Le Meredian), perfect as we turned in our rental car yet needed to head up to Penllyn to meet family.

EXPERIENCE:
As I was rushed through the station due to running late, I didn't get to explore much but did notice a few shops and eateries along the way. This is a station that handles the city's SEPTA train lines. It's not a big station so accessing the tracks was easy with a short walk to boot. Tickets to Penllyn were a mere $6.75/person which we purchased online. Crowds were minimal, even on a weekday at around 8am. Signage were plentiful and easy to read, along with clear announcements. Staff were visible and helpful. We felt very safe as there weren't any shady characters loitering inside or outside. We returned later in the evening to a calm station again.

OVERALL:
Worked like clockwork with nothing to complain about!

Very confusing station with the most weird exits that lead out to different places. Super hard to navigate. The signs and building looks large but all the entrances are small. The signage just mentions the street so you don't know where exactly you'll come out of. It's also not super well maintained or even very safe at night.

This is probably one of the largest train stations I’ve been to. It has an entire shopping center in it. The train station is very clean. I asked the Customer Service area a question and they were super helpful. The train cars are clean and have every other seat closed. The only negative is the audio for train arrivals was not too clear. If you follow the signs you will be fine.

Station is clean, very friendly staff, routes are marked properly. They can improve on the digital display of trains and timings, sometimes its hard to make it out from certain distance. You come out of the station and there is nice food court.

Why would you lock the stations when trains start leaving at 4:55? I took me over 30 minutes to find an entrance that was open and then I wondered for another 15 minutes before I found someone who seemed safe to ask because every one I’ve tried was closed. Moral of the story this cities transportation system sucks just Uber or lift if your flight is before before 10am

No entrances open at 4:00a but there is service to Trenton at 4:00a at this station. Reddit says 17th and JFK entrance is open, but this is old information because this wasn't the case on Sept 16, 2024. Booth operator at 15th and Market entrance to MFL says gates don't open until 4:30a, so what gives? Best bet is to take the MFO shuttle to 30st William Penn Amtrak station, but they don't allow entry until 3:45a. Plan ahead it will get cold soon

This station is the grossest of the three main train stations in CC. Also last time I used it the train I was waiting for just simply never showed up and I was late to work because of it. I was in the right place at the right time, I quite literally watched my train destination and arrival time disappear off the sign while I was waiting as if it came and went... which it didn't. Maybe there was an announcement about a line switch or something of the sort! Not that it would matter though as nothing that is ever said over those speakers can be heard easily enough to form a coherent sentence.
