I lost an item on the Empire Service back on January 9th. It continued on to the Niagara Falls, NY station where an Amtrak staffer named Justin received it and called my wife. I would like to thank Justin and the Amtrak staff for helping me get this back. The book contained nearly a decade of memories and was entirely irreplaceable, so I cannot express how happy I am to get it back. Great staffing and very helpful.

First time taking Amtrak and I love it. For those worried about luggage like I was.
I am posting pictures for the baggage space area inside the 284 Empire train from Niagara Falls to NYC. They have disabled seats for people with wheelchairs also. Bathrooms at each train wagon are wheelchair-friendly. Comfy spacious seats with plenty of space for a carry-on bag for under seats. Charging port. Wifi, Plenty of legroom. Staff at Niagara Falls are very helpful and friendly and you can buy Amtrak tickets at the station.

A bit of a laugh really. Travelling across the border from US to Canada, for us, consisted of the Maple Leaf train stopping, climbing down some 'mobile' steps, having a laugh with the porters/guards, going through a small door, being asked a few questions by a relatively pleasant border guard who scrutinised the paperwork and then walking out to catch a taxi. The guy of Chinese heritage alongside us didn't get such an easy ride though - being only able to speak broken English he rightly was having a tough time. A breeze.

I visited the Niagara Falls NY Amtrak Station in late August/Early September 2022. This is the first or last stop in the US/NY before crossing over into Niagara Falls Canada. If you’re coming into the US/NY be sure to fill out your customs form. Coming from Canada once you arrive at this station, everyone has to get off the train with all your belongings including luggage to go through customs. Once we were cleared through customs we went upstairs to the station where we waited to board the train to continue our journey. The station was very clean and spacious with plenty of seating. There are vending machines to purchase snacks and beverage which accepts cash or card. There is an information desk as well with Amtrak employees to assist and answer any questions you may have. The information desk also has a map of the Niagara Falls area. There is a ladies and men’s room. The ladies room gets really crowded as there is only 2 stalls inside. Surprised to have a limited number of restrooms.

This station is wheelchair accessible and is the last stop on the Amtrak empire service the Amtrak maple continues here to Toronto and stops here for an immigration check point.

This is a well accommodating station with all the facilities and things you would expect plus a museum of the underground railroad downstairs. Lots to do while waiting for the train.
