Arrived on a transfer despite having to wait 6 hours for greyhound. Amtrak is a joke, meeting a lovely female disabled veteran that has been treated poorly from their staff and the company overall. You need to do better Amtrak especially to those that served this country. Better yet even a paraplegic. What a disgusting company. I will no longer use their services.

Pretty good besides the heat and the long walk to the bathroom. It would have been a bit better if the bathroom stalls were a bit bigger to fit my luggage since I can't leave my luggage alone.

Pros: If you’re lucky, you’ll get a train with an actual cafe. The “new” trains have no cafe.

Cons:
1. Half the staff and conductors hate their jobs and are often rude and snippy.
2. Trains are often late (surprise).
3. When trains aren’t late, they like to leave early, stranding passengers. They said they go by “Train Time.” I prefer On Time.
4. The bathrooms…be sure to bring your own cleaning supplies.

Bus driver told me ticket was around $10 to $14 (got on and gave her my passport to pay at station), when the cashier told me it was ACTUALLY around $20, and I had to pay $17.25. ALSO, the cruddy rent-a-cops picked on me and harassed me. One of them ONLY asked me if I had a ticket before he asked anyone else. I asked this man, aren't you going to ask other people if they also have tickets? He replied "Yes." I told him I don't appreciate being harassed. He said "No. No? No.". That's the guy in the picture. What a low-life place. I would try and have a different station as your stop, not Bakersfield. It's only 80% awful.

Safety at RISK!
Bus ? 5919 from Van Nuys to Bakersfield.

This is the San Joaquin bus.

The driver is extremely lax, lazy, has broken several laws..and doesn't keep eyes on road or both hands on wheel.
She tailgates cars ..this is scary bc her lack of paying attention and the weight of this bus already decrease her reaction and stopping time. We almost got in an accident before Newhall.

Apparently, she forgot her routes.

The trip started with her getting over several lanes from HOV . Over double yellow lines (they broke soon after, and she could have safely got over and not missed exit

She takes her eyes off the road several times to eat sunflower seeds, often drives with one hand

!! And the really bad thing is she talks and texts while operating this actually heavier than normal bus

This lady is way too lax, and if we crash or if she does, it's her fault

Friendly keeper of the keys and kept it open just for me on occasion I'm grateful for this train station I'm constantly using the transit for transportation imagine that .for absolute certainty this is by far the nicest transit place I've been to and esp in Bakersfield. No places to eat near by and not a whole lot going on just buses and trains and parking the inside the RR closes at 8 if your train or bus leave after 8 your outside.!
