A very neat and beautiful place.... escalators are fully functional and up to date.....the area is safe and clean.....red line metro service is available from this station....the line starts from shady Grove and service ends at Glenmont...all connections are available through the journey....

Min Bean

Overall, this metro station is good, but with some exceptions. The positives include the following. First, the red line trains that service this station are fairly frequent most of the time, with some exceptions during the night and during holidays and weekends. Second, the station is nearly always clean, and there very few homeless people in and around the station. Third, there is a newly completed "Bike & Ride station" (which by the way is very new for metro and the US in general) where you can store your bike in a modern, clean, and spacious enclosed space directly outside the station, with useful bike amenities such as wrenches and bike pumps. Fourth, the immediate area around the station really isn't that bad, with lots of high-density housing around the station and a music center near the station too. Unluckily, there is also a big three-lane road next to the station and nearly no shops/restaurants around the station. Fifth and finally, there is a big parking garage next to the station with easy parking at all times. Now the less positive aspect. First, there are very few bus routes serving the station, and the ones that do are mostly infrequent and not very useful. Also, the bus shelters are in need of an upgrade, with some not even in use. Second, the station attendants are not very friendly and helpful most of the time, and do not stop people who simply jump over the fare gates without paying at all, which is a big problem for metro. Third and finally, on the train tracks near the station, there is always lots of trash on the tracks, which doesn't look great, but isn't that much of a problem for anyone. Overall, this is a very useful station for people who live around it, and is safe and clean.

Mikhail Ireland

This is a convenient station to board the red line at, especially if there are closures at earlier stations. There is a parking garage here, and the station is easy to navigate. There are signs that tell you which side goes where, and when the next train will arrive.

Vishal Sinha

This is a good metro stop on the Red Line. It has plenty of parking to it gets filed up quickly.

The station is clean and well maintained, save the few loose floor tiles on the platform.

The good thing with this station is that quote a few trains during evening rush hour towards Shady Grove actually end at Grosvenor, so parking here during the day makes that much more sense!

Mitch Dorrell

This is a good metro station, with a tunnel to cross under the highway if you're on the wrong side. All Red-Line trains stop here under normal operating conditions, but this is the last stop for a lot of trains, so you may have to wait a bit longer if you're heading north to White Flint, Twinbrook, Rockville, or Shady Grove. Unfortunately, weekend construction is common, with frequent single-tracking or shuttle-bus replacements. They won't leave you stranded, but if your schedule isn't flexible, you should definitely leave extra time... expect that it could take twice as long as it should.

After traveling in tunnel for a way, the Red Line emerges at Grosvenor. This station is very similar to White Flint, with an island platform and modified peaked roof. This station is located just outside the Beltway at Tuckerman Lane. There is a large amount of parking. Heading south this is the last station that is above ground, the last station with commuter parking, and the last station outside the Beltway. This is also where the "short service" Red Line trains turn back during rush hours. Off peak however, all trains continue on to Shady Grove.

This station opened in July of 1984 as part of the extension from Van Ness to Grosvenor. It served as the Northwest Terminus of the Red Line for a few months, until the line opened through to Shady Grove in December.

There's plenty of parking spaces and the station is clean enough; however, the elevator area of the parking garage could use some upkeep.

Longer trains are getting out of service, while shorter ones shoehorn passengers. But don't worry, if there are too many people trying to get in they will shut the doors smashing a few "lucky" ones.
